Liberty Match For Young Children

Liberty Match is best for 3-6 players, but it is possible for 2 to play. The American standard 52 playing card deck is used, but you can also use all 58 playing cards in our deck. The dealer deals between 5-7 playing cards to each player (depending on how many players there are). The remaining playing cards are placed face down to form a stock.
The player to dealer’s left starts. A turn consists of asking a specific player for a specific rank. For example, if it is my turn I might say: Thomas, do you have the 1st Amendment’. I must already hold a playing card of the requested rank, so I must hold a 1st Amendment to ask him. If the player who was asked (Thomas) has this playing card), He must give this playing card to me, I will then have a pair and place it in front of me face up. I can then get another turn and ask any person playing for a card I am holding.
If the person asked does not have any cards of the named rank, they say ‘Catch A Liberty!’ The asker must then draw the top playing card of the un-dealt stock. If the drawn playing card is the rank asked for, They can add it to the playing card they already have and put it down as a match’.
As soon as a player collects a pair of playing cards of the same rank, this must be shown and placed in front of them face up. When a player has no playing cards left, they must then draw a playing card from the stock until all playing cards run out. The game continues until all the playing cards are played even the stock. The winner is the player who has the most pairs in front of them.
